“When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”

     It means that we will experience struggles and challenge in life, we cannot avoid it. If we already had solutions to problems, it will just continuously go and passes by. As we know those experiences, we can now use it to face challenges and struggles that may come to our lives. 

Math Fest

                     

            As celebrating festival, people will not forget cooperation to decorate surroundings, to make all activities and performances. All people are well-prepared in making programs.

           This Math Fest is really fun. We had watched the jazz chants and other performances. We also supported our representative for Mr. & Ms. Sipnayan. Those representatives are every batch. We had Mr. Michael Nangca and Ms. Joanna Pagtakhan. There are performances and talents of them. Our representatives are always cooperating with each other.  Michael Sung and Joanna danced. I was hearing yells and cheers. Finally, Michael Nangca won and Joanna Pagtakhan received some awards. But it is ok with us because there are both winners for us.

        After the program in gym, we had proceeded in our respective class rooms. We took pictures and celebrated Michael and Joanna’s victory. I realize that even the contest requires individual, we should help them and support like they help each other. For me, they stood as an example of a good contestant.

A letter: The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepherd

Dear Shepherd,

                I am happy and I appreciate all your efforts for me. I want to thank you for your offerings to show how much you love me. I just want you to wait the right time to hear my answer. Actually, I don’t want to be hurt so badly so I am observing and understand your feelings but I think this is not the right time. I beseech you, therefore, to also understand me. I want you to prove that your love for me is true except you offer all things in this world.

                  I know that there is no perfect love in this world because it is also imperfect that full of evil and temporarily things. But don’t be disappointed, I am really just securing both of our feelings. If you really want to prove your love to me, I recommend you that don’t offer those things in this world instead “just be you”.

                  Please accept this appreciation of me.

An Adventure Day

         Since I was in first year, I have been waiting for this day, a day that I expect to be amazed and to be informed. I was really excited when I knew that there will be a Field trip this year.

         In the morning of our Field trip, I have this excitement in my heart. I was ready, my snacks and lunch were packed, the gadgets I brought were secured in my other bag, the extra clothes and kikay kit were prepared, and me, I was smiling and took a ride in our service.

         Ma’am May told us that our bus number is 7. When all are ready, we get inside the bus and we have our tour guide, his name was Kuya Jimmy. Actually, he is really funny. He has many jokes while saying information about different places in the Philippines, he also informed us about destinations.

         At first, we went to the Science Discovery Center which is inside the Mall of Asia, we have seen many robots, and gadgets and cool technologies. In the Myth of the Body, we have seen many skeletons , many fetuses, and many internal organs from most of the Chinese citizens. Third, in Kulturang Pinoy, we had watched video that made us realize our wrong characteristics like being unrespectful. And we had reminded of the traits of being a Filipino. Finally, we went to Mall of Asia (MOA), we had enjoyed shopping and eating with our friends.

         This is another memory that I’ll treasure forever in my life. I will never forget this because it has been a part of my high school life.

National Career Assessment Examination

         Before, our teacher had told us that we will have the NCAE this second grading. I was shocked because I know that this test is for fourth years. Our teacher had told us that DepEd had moved it to be taken by third year high school. As of this time, I realized that we had this opportunity to be prepared in thinking what course we will take.

         

         On Friday, we have taken the NCAE. The students are arranged alphabetically in each room. I was assigned in Room 4. We are very early in school to get ready. We have waited for our proctor and when she arrived, she introduced herself first. After that, we started to fill up the sheets that will contain information about us. Then, we had started earlier and we have taken each subject. Our proctor is very kind. Some time she is cracking jokes to us.

         We had the test very fast because the other subjects were easy. I had just recalled the past lessons and analyzed each questions. We are just half day. After the test, we had passed the answer sheets and questionnaires. Then, we had dismissed by our proctor.

         Finally, we can go home and rest our tired minds. 

What tree is the same as me?

                 A tree is very important to this world. It is a part of nature that is useful in every living thing.

                 At first, I cannot think of a tree that has characteristics as I have. But I had just asked someone who said that I am like a narra tree because that tree is very strong. A narra tree is useful and cannot be easily destroyed. I realized that narra tree is just like me. I am strong because whenever I have problems, I never give up and never lose hope. Compared to a tree, I am also useful because I am helping those people who need something that I have. I am also giving advice for those people who have problems if they are approaching me. My advice is base from my experience. I am trying things that I can to help people. Compared to a tree, their leaves are dancing with winds like me. I am like those leaves and the winds are like music. I really love dancing because I can express my feeling or emotions through it. Plus, the music comforts me and makes me happy.

Intramurals (2011)

September 16-17 2011, our Intramurals days. Those days we had different sports to play like volleyball, basketball, chess, table tennis etc. Every student was enjoyed playing and watching.

At first, we had a starting program. We listened to our principal’s speech about the things in intramurals. Next, we had watched all models in Mr. and Ms. Physique. After that, we had a competition of cheers in every year level. We had enjoyed every time of the day.

Every batch has different names. The freshmen’s name was Green Chevrolet, sophomores’ name was Yellow Lamborghini, seniors’ name was Blue Porsche, and we, juniors’ name was Red Ferrari. Those names are according to the kind of car. I thought those names are nice and cute. We also had different t-shirts according to batch. It is so cool when I see those different colors of shirt being worn by students while walking.

My sport was basketball. The first game of basketball girls was Chevrolet vs. Ferrari. When we had played, I felt very happy though there are small accidents happened because I can see the sportsmanship and determination in each and every one of us to win in that game. We won at first game and we jumped high because of happiness we felt and of appreciation of the cheers by Red Ferrari. Next, the second game was Porsche vs. Lamborghini. The Porsche won. After that, we have been watching the “lose to lose” game. The Chevrolet won. Then, the “win to win” game was the climax for me. I felt nervous because our opponents are taller than us, but my classmate told me “This game is not about heights of players, it is about the skill and determination of a player”. I entered at third quarter, but I cannot play well because the finger of my right hand was dislocated. When we played, the rain fell, we did not finish the fourth quarter. The teachers had just asked us if we will give the championship to Porsche, then we agreed.

The Intramurals was extended because there is no time for awarding. We had it on Monday morning. Everyone shouted their own cheers. I can see the happiness of the players while they have been receiving awards. And I realized that the places of awards aren’t really matter but at least you gave your best and you are fulfilled playing those sports you love. Those days happened only once in a year and a part of high school life. Those moments are another memory that I’ll treasure forever.

-  The image of the star means the guiding star to every lost ship that can be measured but can’t be calculated.

How does this image apply to love?

-        Love can lead you like a star when you’re lost and you think that your life is nonsense.

C.   Extending

1)    Do you agree or disagree with the speaker interpretation of love? Why or why not?

-       I agree. Because the definitions of love that were written there are really true

During lunch, Ma’am May called me.

Ma’am May : Michelle, come here, let’s eat our lunch.

Me : Sure Ma’am!

Ma’am May : How is your long weekend?

Me : Its very happy . We had practiced our dance for the coming event this December.

Ma’am May : What event is that?

Me : Ah, it’s the event in our church entitled “Pasko sa Bayan”. We had performed in that event last year. All members had danced and sung. We will celebrate it again.

Ma’am May : Aahh, that’s great!

Me : Yes. Since last week we have been practicing our interpretative dance.

Ma’am May : Wow, it seems that you really enjoyed your weekend

Me : Really! Haha . How about you ma’am? How is your weekend?

Ma’am May : Well, My weekend is also happy because we went to mall. My family had ate at restaurant and had shared laughter. That bonding is another treasure for me.

Me : wow! Nice to hear that from you. Ah.. ma’am I am done eating my lunch. I need to prepare things for Math subject.

Ma’am May : Okay.. Thank you for your time =)

Me : Thank you also. I hope that we shall have talk to each other again. Hehe. I enjoyed talking with you =)

Ma’am May : Me too Michelle. You’re welcome.

        That moment, I stood up and smiled. This made me realize that connection and communication is very important.

VIRINIA MILAY: My Modern Day Hero

A person who has incredible attitude

Cannot be easily seen in the multitude

With pure heart, intelligence and great discipline

Working hard to have the dream she can imagine

That person, my modern day hero, is my mother

Because of her, I was amazed and felt better

She made a path to lead our wrong ways to right

Music in me

                Music is sounds that produces melody, harmony, and rhythm. It affects anyone’s emotion. For me, it may cause negative or positive feelings to people who is listening to music. My feelings depend on what kind of music. If it is slow and dull, I become sad, but if it is happy and alive I become happy. Usually, I am feeling happy because it sounds nice in my ear. I am being overwhelmed when I am listening to music. When I’m in sorrow, I used to sing my favorite songs, in that way I can express my real emotion. I am releasing something heavy in my heart. If I’m not in mood to sing a song, I’ll just listen to it.

                Music is not only about songs but in instruments. I used to play guitar. My day is incomplete when I’m not playing guitar and it’s my passed time when I’m bored. I want to learn playing other instruments. Every time I am seeing someone who is good in playing any instruments, this inspires me and there is amazement in my heart. Since I was a child , I already knew that I really love music. My desire is to develop more my talents because I wish that I could be an absolute musician someday. Now, I found out a wonderful meaning of music in me.
